This beautiful reference 116506 is the exclusive Daytona model released by Rolex to celebrate the iconic watch’s 50th birthday. With a glorious platinum case (the first Cosmograph to win this honour), the watch is a close cousin of the great ref. 116520, and has the same stunning in-house movement: the 4130, which is the first Rolex calibre to use ceramic ball bearings in the automatic winding system. Where this model differs is in the rich brown ceramic bezel (and subdials) and the striking ‘ice blue’ dial—possibly an homage to the piercing eyes of Rolex darling Paul Newman, who is particularly associated with the Daytona and its exceptional racing watch legacy.
This Rolex Daytona 116506 has a ice blue baton dial and a bracelet strap. This Rolex has undergone a thorough inspection of water resistance, accuracy, functionality and condition to determine the level of reconditioning required to meet our strict standards. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history. Our watches have a 24-month warranty for your peace of mind, in conjunction with any remaining manufacturer’s warranty from new or from service. To maintain the manufacturer’s warranty on this watch, it has not been polished in our service centre.
