The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26062OR.OO.A002CA.01 ‘Alinghi Team’ released in 2007 for the 32nd America’s Cup, commemorating Audemars Piguet’s sponsorship of Swiss sailing team Alinghi—who brought the America’s Cup to Europe for the first time in 132 years with their 2003 victory. This marked numerous firsts for AP: first use of forged carbon bezel combined with precious metal case, first colored gasket (red silicone between bezel and case), first blackened hex bolts, first oversized rectangular pin buckle design.
The 44mm 18k rose gold case measures 14.3mm thick and features a forged carbon bezel secured by eight titanium screws with distinctive red silicone gasket visible between bezel and case. Ceramic crown and pushers complement the black lacquer dial, which showcases Méga Tapisserie guilloché at center surrounded by white luminescent rose gold Arabic numerals and skeleton hands. The dial’s most distinctive element is the wedge-shaped 10-minute regatta countdown aperture spanning from 12 to 3 o’clock, which gradually turns red during the final minute before race start. Ship prow-shaped chronograph hands point to the Alinghi logo at 3 o’clock, a 20-minute register at 9, and 6-hour counter at 6. Inside beats Caliber 2326/2848 automatic movement—a JLC 899 base integrated with Dubois-Dépraz 2848 regatta module—featuring 50 jewels and 40-hour power reserve. The caseback bears an intricately engraved relief medallion depicting the Alinghi team in action.
