Description
Panerai’s legendary Luminor model is known for its distinctive crown protector, essentially a bridge device with an integrated lever that clamps the crown and sealing gasket tight against the case. This was patented in the 1950s and the Luminor, along with the older Radiomir, has been a mainstay of the Panerai line up ever since. This version in 18k rose gold features the signature sandwich-style dial and a small-seconds display at the 9 o’clock position—elements that recall the earliest Luminors of the 1950s when Panerai still made watches in small numbers for the military. However, unlike the black dials of those early models, this one is a more contemporary anthracite-grey with a subtle sunburst effect. On the reverse you’ll find an exhibition caseback revealing the brand’s calibre P.4000, an in-house automatic movement featuring a decorated gold micro-rotor.
